Paving Your Path
At Mater Filius Nebraska, we walk with you as an individual path is developed with our professional staff. Upon entry, you will receive a private room for you and your children, clothing, hygiene supplies, warm nutritious meals, workshops, and caring mentors who walk alongside you as you develop your path to independence.
What We Offer
HOUSING
We offer a private room in a safe, tranquil home for mothers and their children. Pregnant teenagers and women with children under the age of five are welcome. We want to keep families together!
TRANSPORTATION
We transport mothers to appointments, jobs, schools, and other activities related to their paths forward. As a mom progresses through our program, we will help her find a safe and reliable vehicle.
BASIC LIFE SKILLS
We teach mothers how to organize and care for a home, plan and prepare meals for her family, financial management, parenting, and many other basic life skills for the unique path of each mom.
EDUCATION
If education is part of her path, we help a mother continue the education she has started, enroll in GED classes, or attend college. We assist mothers with scholarship opportunities in the community.
JOB ASSISTANCE
We provide resources to help mothers prepare a resumé, apply for jobs, and connect with community employment opportunities. We encourage our mothers to be working or going to school.
HEALTH
We help arrange healthcare appointments and transportation, offer workshops, encourage spirituality, and offer a boutique to residents and graduates to help build them up in spirit, mind, and body.
BLU*TIQUE
We offer residents access to our BLU*tique offering new and gently used baby clothes, baby equipment, diapers, toiletries, and household goods. We also help find other items needed during and after staying with us.
CHILD ENRICHMENT
We offer residents and graduates, at no cost, a Christian child enrichment program for ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We assist in finding excellent, affordable options for older children.
GRADUATE SUPPORT
Mothers are eligible to shop in our BLU*tique and enjoy occasional workshops, and children will continue to enjoy the child enrichment program at no cost.
SPIRITUAL SUPPORT
We encourage all members of the Mater Filius community to develop their spirituality through offering weekly Mass, fellowship, and evening “encounters.”
